The contemporary landscape is a fluid and unstable field of both energy and stillness immersing the body in permeations of sounds and visual vibration. Most often, the routine and mundane actions of day to day activity or the mind itself can distract and disconnect us from that surrounding space - our consciousness unattended and untethered to present time. Through an artistic practice, intimate observations of pitch, frequency, duration and depth can be recorded by the hand and body into a gestural, drawing process steeped in expressive line quality and mark-making. These visual recordings of the rich qualities found within the isolated events of experience symbolizes the human ability to reconnect the body to the landscape through a greater state of awareness and observation.
