I represent today’s contemporary American landscape as a field of nature being consumed by man-made forms and elements of noise in space. Rural-suburbia and urban downtowns in the south are my primary focal point. Each drawing, painting, and collage, combines layers of contrasting textures and irregular shapes of color, to reflect the edge effects of where man-made and organic forms visibly intersect and the dynamics of sound and energy travel in the air, as a result. My recorded observations go beyond the canvas and paper, or wood. With every site-visit, I am discovering the unique qualities and patterns in diverse ecosystems. By surveying and collecting samples of these environments, I better understand  how to share my space with nature.

I have spent the last 13 years as an adjunct art instructor, thesis advisor, and visiting instructor for the University of North Florida (alum 99') and Jacksonville University. I challenge students from all levels of experience to make art fearlessly from a rigorous practice and intent to create authenticity.

In 2009, I earned an MFA in Interdisciplinary Studio and Theory from Maine College of Art; and soon after, became director of the Art in Public Places percent-for-art program for the City of Jacksonville (2010-2019). Art has been one common denominator to my life's most meaningful adventures including living in the subsistence community of Kwethluk, Alaska during summer 2021 where I assisted in the painting and educational programming of a large-scale mural project at the Ket'acik & Aapalluk Memorial School.

My next solo exhibition opens at Florida State College Gallery in August 2022.
